Madonna is an artist who uses a no limits no taboos
approach to her
subject matter, yet a universal message exists within the video. Many songs
today express truths and leave the viewer to grasp the meanings. At first
this video seems crazy, and disoriented, even a little cruel towards the
old woman, but after 'the wink', all hell breaks loose and you are drawn
into the action. It was banned on most TV stations as too violent. But
again, Director Guy Ritchie and Madonna use
a dynamic imagery to force your attention to the difference between boys
and girls. The plight of women growing old and forgotten is an added dimension.
The rare accomplishment of subtlety with dynamics is achieved in this video.
